The number of flu cases in the country has recently increased and now stands at
5,660. The Ministry of Health has said that the Committee for Infectious Diseases is
regularly following flu developments in the country and will put forward new
measures and recommendations if necessary.

A 50-year-old man has passed away from flu-related complications at the Skopje-
based University Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases.
This is the third flu-related death case after an 85-year-old man and a 14-year-old
girl passed away over the course of the last ten days.
“They all had chronic diseases, had not received a flu shot and tested positive for the
AH1 sub-type,” said Gordana Kuzmanovska of the Public Health Institute on
Thursday.
Regarding measures related to the coronavirus, Kuzmanovska said procedures have
been established and implemented at all border crossings, both on the ground and at
airports.
“Six workers from China working in the country’s west have arrived following a 14-
day quarantine in China. Measures will be taken upon their arrival depending on their
health condition. They might also be placed under a 14-day quarantine before
starting to work in our country,” said Kuzmanovska.
