There are currently no migrants at the southern border and the reception transit center. The regional Crisis Management Center said Monday about 180 migrants were thwarted in their attempt to cross the border over the weekend. An isolation container has also been placed within the reception center due to the coronavirus.

Mayor Saso Pockov said the municipality regularly reports on the real situation on the southern border to curb fake news and reduce psychological pressure.

“As a municipality we are involved in the preparation and coordination with the institutions in the crisis management system, above all, to deal with a possible surge in refugees and migrants. We are also in regular coordination with the Headquarters for Crisis Management which regularly monitors the situation and provides guidelines for action,” Pockov said.
