The first ever heart transplant performed last night at the Clinic for Cardiac Surgery in Skopje was a success.
The donor was a woman who has died, and whose family agreed to allow her heart to be given to a patient who was in need of a transplant.
Doctors from the Cardiac Surgery Clinic, Acibadem Sistina Hospital, Anesthesia, Reanimation, and Intensive Treatment Clinic and Zan Mitrev Clinic took part in the operation, coordinated by National transplant coordinator Maja Mojsova.
