“If there’s any need backed by the Commission for Infectious Diseases, we will definitely make appropriate decisions because our top priority is to protect the country and to protect public health,” Interim Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski said when asked whether the closing of the border with Serbia was being considered due to the coronavirus.

He said the epidemiological situation was being monitored both at home and abroad.

“The epidemiological situation is almost identical in the region and in several European countries. It was, I would say, the key reason to reopen borders because nothing will be changed if we have this epidemiological situation. We can always use the preventative measures, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance and disinfecting,” stressed Spasovski.
