Several civil associations, associations, societies, activists of environmental movements today launched a petition for the rescue of Lake Prespa, with specific requests addressed to the Government.
The petition opened in support of all citizens who are interested in the fate of Lake Prespa as one of the oldest lakes in Europe states that this ecosystem is forgotten by all relevant institutions and is deteriorating day by day.
The petition calls for the immediate declaration of a state of crisis in the entire area of the Prespa Lake basin, the immediate establishment of a scientific/technical commission that will study the situation and propose urgent measures to improve the situation no later than ten days after the the petition was released.
