Instead of concrete measures to help in the fight against the coronacrisis, SDSM and the government with the new supplementary budget allocate next to nothing for the citizens. The measures are not enough and are overdue. It is high time for the Social Democratic Union to take seriously the economic crisis in which the country has fallen into, along with its citizens, stressed VMRO-DPMNE in a public statement.

“About 50 thousand people in the country lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and the government with the budget review projects assistance for anti-crisis measures of only 8.2 percent of the total expenditures. SDSM and the government indebted Macedonia 2 billion euros, and the citizens did not see anything from that money as help. The gap in the budget is around 960 million euros, which is historically the largest in independent Macedonia – a hole that will be paid again by the citizens. The budget deficit this year is 8.4 per cent of gross domestic product, and public debt is 59.3 per cent,” the party said.
