Toni Menkinovski in an interview with morning show on Alfa TV said that minority rights in Macedonia serve as an example around the world and many international institutions were interested in the example of Macedonia in respecting minorities. According to him, the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria is an internal problem of Bulgaria and no one can give up the rights of Macedonians in Bulgaria with a bilateral agreement.

“First of all, I would like to start from a historical and sociological conclusion that we Macedonians in the new century history have never assimilated, nor have we intended to assimilate anyone and that is a very important fact and important phenomenon. If we start from the Republic of Macedonia, the minority rights in the Republic of Macedonia serve as an example all over the world and also many international institutions were interested in the example of Macedonia in respecting minorities. It is an internal problem of Macedonia, but the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria is an internal problem of Bulgaria and no one can give up the rights of Macedonians in Bulgaria with a bilateral agreement. With this I want to mention that I cannot give up your rights, it is currently happening in the bilateral relationship between Macedonia and Bulgaria,” Menkinovski said in his interview.
