Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi extended Thursday New Year’s greetings to the citizens, wishing them all the best in 2021.
“We are at the end of a year which is characteristic in many ways. First of all, we marked the year as a full-fledged, 30th NATO member, which was a strategic goal for all of us.
“This year was marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, which created an emergency situation around the world, which did not pass us by. It was a year in which in such conditions we conducted parliamentary elections, which passed in the best order and created conditions for full functioning of the institutions. Unfortunately, it was a year in which many of our citizens failed to fight the evil of the coronavirus, to whose families I express my condolences,” said Xhaferi.
In the video address, he wishes that the pandemic is overcome and that the country move towards its strategic objective – European Union membership.
