We are leaving behind the year that will be remembered by the global pandemic that has entirely changed our way of life and our worldview. We will remember this year as the year of the biggest global crisis in the new century. We have seen many heroes emerge during this adversity, demonstrating solidarity, humanity and the importance of helping each other, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in the New Year’s address.
“The Government has responded with timely and comprehensive measures both in the health and economic sectors, taking into consideration the people’s health and social security, while maintaining people’s jobs and sustaining the pace of the economy,” says PM Zaev.
He highlights the enormous sacrifice of the health workers, who are working daily to save lives.
“The crisis management would have been impossible without the engagement of the Army, police, media workers and other stakeholders on the frontlines. We salute all of you!,” says Zaev.
At the same time, I extend my condolences for every lost life, and let the unity in this struggle give strength to the families that have lost loved ones in finding peace.
We need to take care of our loved ones, whose health and safety is part of the daily struggle. Let’s demonstrate responsibility and adhere to the recommendations. Happy New Year!”, underlines PM Zaev.
