Macedonia to get 800.000 of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines, first batch in February

The Republic of Macedonia is to receive 800,000 doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, of which the first batch of 5,850 doses will arrive in February, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.

Health Minister Venko Filipche who has been directly negotiating with Pfizer, has secured vaccines until the end of 2021. Filipche and Pfizer senior official have agreed the deal early this morning over the phone. The first batch of 5,850 doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in February whereas the next shipments will arrive in the course of March and April. The distribution of vaccines until the end of 2021 will be additionally agreed, press release reads.
