The Ivermectin drug will arrive in the country within the next two weeks, announced Minister of Health Venko Filipche on Friday.
Ivermectin has gone through all phases in the Ministry of Health and in MALMED, the medicine will be issued on prescription by family doctors and in hospital conditions ,” said Filipche.
He explained that the drug will be given to three groups of citizens and all will have different dosages, which is why a doctor must be consulted for its use. These are risk groups of workers, people who have had confirmed contact and people who are infected with COVID-19. There are different dosages in all groups and therefore should be under the supervision of a doctor, added Filipche.
Earlier, the director of the Drug Agency announced that the Ivermectin drug will be available in pharmacies after Christmas.
