The price of bread will go up. The association of mills and bread bakeries is already calculating how much the increase will be. Higher prices of raw materials on world stock exchanges, reduced consumption in our country and the ban on increasing the price of flour, pushed the sector to its knees. The losses are huge, and there is no help, complains the association of mills and bread bakeries GMPI.
To overcome the situation the associations have a meeting with Prime Minister Zaev next week. They will ask for subsidies for last year, but also a plan for restoring the production of wheat in our country. At the moment, only 65 thousand tons are bought from home, or 70% less than 10-15 years ago. They are also demanding greater control over the import of cheap flour from Serbia.
