Outpatient department opens within Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics

Health Minister Venko Filipche paid a visit to the new outpatient department that has been opened within the University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics.

“In the past months we have been working intensively to equip an outpatient facility within the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, considering that the clinic is currently a COVID center. The modern outpatient department has new beds, necessary equipment where medical abortions are to be performed,” stressed Minister Filipche.

He said that they talked about changed system that has been functioning for a year after Law on Abortion was revised, ensuring full respect of women’s right to freely choose termination of pregnancy.

“The whole process is very simplified, there is no more than three days of waiting. The procedures are immediately implemented in accordance with the new amendment to the law and in the last two months for the first time at the clinic after the appropriate purchase and medical abortion, especially for women in the early stages of pregnancy. Medical abortion can also be performed now in this modern and truly European way, in addition to the standard one,” Filipche said.
