Macedonia with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is sinking along all international economic parameters. The country is in economic recession, there is no realization of capital investments, no new foreign investments, and on top of that those who were here and were the bearers of the economy are now leaving. Instead of growth, Macedonia with Zoran Zaev is sinking into corruption and crime. In such conditions, economic growth is impossible. Zoran Zaev has been proven incompetent neither to plan nor to realize economic growth of Macedonia, the opposition VMRO-DPMNE reacted in a statement on Sunday.

They remind that SDSM and Zaev came to power with a promise of economic growth of 5 percent per year, but also that the growth in the country in the years before the pandemic did not exceed 2.5 percent.

“The year the pandemic started and everyone was preparing for economic shocks, he promised a flashback, and then plunged the country into a recession with hundreds of thousands of jobs lost. The budget deficit in December alone amounts to 225 million euros, which is more than the budget deficit in the whole of 2019, which amounted to 222 million euros, “reads the reaction of VMRO-DPMNE.

The opposition criticizes Prime Minister Zaev that he neither knows how to plan, nor knows how to realize what he has planned.

“The average capital expenditures in 2020 are 16 million euros per month, while in December alone there is a jump of 84 million euros!? That is unthinkable. Such an economic collapse can happen only if he either did not plan properly or kept the money to the businessmen for a whole year, so he paid them at once in December? And all this in the midst of an epidemic,” said the VMRO-DPMNE.
