The government does not issue work guidelines. A professional commission of experts in pandemics is in charge of that, and we only abide by their suggestions, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi said in response to a reporter asking how the government would handle Friday’s protesters’ demands for new protocols for wedding venues and florists.

“As we showed in the past, and we’re showing again with the fifth stimulus package, no sector will be left behind, including the hospitality industry.

“I don’t agree with their ultimatums, but I would encourage citizens to voice their opinions through democratic means, such as these protests.

“As a government, we’ll be here to help citizens and businesses get through the pandemic with minimal consequences,” the Minister of Economy said.

Hospitality businesses will stage a protest on Friday between 2 pm and 5 pm against the coronavirus restrictions.
