The heart of our humane fellow citizen continued to beat in the chest of a man who gets a second chance at life, announced Minister of Health VenkoFilipcheon Facebook.
The heart and kidney transplants from a deceased donor started this morning at the Cardiac Surgery and Urology clinics.
“After intensive preparations during the night, the heart and kidney transplantation of a 42-year-old patient who lost the battle was completed early this morning, and her last wish was to donate her organs. A heart transplant is performed on a patient who has been on the transplant list for a long time, and the kidneys will be transplanted on two patients in their 40s who are on dialysis,” the Ministry of Health announced Wednesday morning.
