The Ministry of Health informs with great sorrow that a 16-year-old patient from the village of Sirichino near Tetovo has died due to complications from COVID-19 at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions.
The patient with a very severe clinical picture was transferred to the Infectious Diseases Clinic from the Tetovo Hospital where she was hospitalized from 21.10 to 23.10, and was previously treated at home due to complaints dating back 9 days from the initial admission to the Tetovo hospital.
According to the medical report, it was an extremely severe case, the patient was oxygen dependent with severe COVID-19 pneumonia. Pulmonary thromboembolism was also confirmed by the tests during the hospital stay. There was a rapid progressive deterioration of respiratory function during treatment. The young patient was not vaccinated against COVID-19.
