MPs pass law that declares Sunday a non-working day

With 62 votes “in favor” and none against, the MPs in adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Labor Relations, which makes Sunday a day of leisure.

“Sunday as a non-working day has become a reality. The Government and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy have kept their promise to the workers. Starting January 1, Sunday will be a day of leisure for 92 percent of workers,” said Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jagoda Shahpaska on the occasion of the adoption of the Law on Labor Relations, which defines Sunday as a non-working day.
