Levica leader and MP Dimitar Apasiev announced via Facebook that only 16 MPs voted in favor of the abolition of the allowance of public officials. The draft law was submitted by Levica with the explanation that most of the ministers who are no longer part of the Government, making full use of all official privileges, will continue to receive salaries from the Budget of the Republic of Macedonia after the termination of their office, i.e. the so-called appanage or MP allowance.

“Only 16 MPs voted in favor of abolishing the allowance MPs receive after they leave office. That’s all,” wrote Apasiev.
