The Ministry of Local Self-Government informs that the Constitutional Court rejected the initiative and confirmed that the solemn statements at the constitutive session are given and signed by the members of the municipal councils with the constitutional name of the country.
“By rejecting the initiative, the Constitutional Court confirmed the opinion of the Ministry of Local Self-Government submitted to the municipalities that the solemn statements at the constitutive session are given and signed by the members of the municipal councils with the constitutional name of the state. This formally confirms that the refusal of some members of the municipal councils to give the solemn statement and sign it with the constitutional name of the country is contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia and the law on local self-government,” said the Ministry of Local Self-Government.
