Meat processors demand additional 6 months zero duty, or prices will increase by at least 20%

For another six months, the measure for zero percent customs duty for 50 percent of the imported quantities of pork in the previous year should be extended, the meat processors demand, and warn that, if their requirements are not met, the prices of meat products will increase by at least 15-20 percent. The facilities may be closed or relocated to the region, leaving about 500 families in one region out of work.

As informed at Friday’s press conference at the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, the request for extension of duty-free import of raw materials will be officially submitted to the Government today.
