Industrial production falls by 3.8 percent in April annually

    Industrial production in April this year compared to April 2021 decreased by 3.8 percent and increased by 1.5 percent in the period January-April 2022 compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the State Statistical Office on Wednesday.
    Analyzed by sectors, in April 2022, compared to April 2021, industrial production decreased by 2.1 percent in Mining and quarrying and by 6.9 percent in Manufacturing. An increase of 28.8 percent was recorded in the sector Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
    The decrease in the Manufacturing industry is primarily due to the reduced production in the departments: Manufacture of food products, beverages, tobacco products, textiles, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals, fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, electrical equipment and machinery and devices, not elsewhere specified or included.
