As of Friday July 1, the price of electricity is increasing and the new concept of block tariffs is starting to be applied. Regulators assure that for 98.8 percent of households, the average price of electricity will increase by 7.4 percent. No electricity restrictions are expected either, although we do not expect a severe winter.
Block tariffs will apply only to expensive electricity, and there will be no block tariffs for cheap electricity and consumption will be paid based on the difference. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) says that if the block tariffs were not introduced, the price would increase by 17.74 percent.
