Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski condemned Tuesday night’s attacks on the police, noting that ‘although protests are a democratic right, violence cannot be justified by anything’.
“What happened last night in front of the Parliament is not the true face of the European Republic of North Macedonia, a NATO member country. Protests are a democratic right of every citizen, but violence cannot be justified by anything. I strongly condemn the attack on the police, who were up to their task last night, professionally protecting citizens and state institutions,” PM Kovachevski said.
