Today in the European Commission, the expert teams from Macedonia and Albania will hear about the updated EU legislation from 2019.
The purpose of the explanatory screening, as in 2019, is to inform the teams of the negotiating countries about the progress and novelties in the EU legislation. Given that Macedonia and Albania have not had an explanatory screening since 2019, they have to go through an update of the latest laws, verdicts and decisions in each of the chapters between then and now.
The meeting in the European Commission is dedicated to chapter five, Public Procurement, which is part of cluster one. Cluster one is considered the most important, it includes chapters 23 and 24 on justice and judiciary, which during the negotiation process are the first to be opened and the last to be closed.
