Due to the crimes in REK Bitola, ESM bought electricity for 23 million euros for the needs of households in 23 days in November. Nothing came from the Government’s promises that all three blocks in REK Bitola will work. We are at the beginning of December, and for most of the time, so far only one block has been working, said VMRO-DPMNE in a press release on Wednesday.
REK Bitola does not operate at full capacity for two reasons, due to the lack of enough coal and due to technical problems resulting from incompetence of the management.
“The insufficient production of REK Bitola results in expensive imports, which ESM is obliged to make in order to cover the needs of the regulated market. If REK worked with at least two blocks, there would be no need to import electricity in November, and if it worked with three blocks, it would be able to sell electricity to the economy, the opposition party said.
