Number of people infected with chickenpox doubled in November

The Institute of Public Health registered an increased number of chickenpox (Varicella) in the country in November.

According to the latest report of the Public Health Institute, during November, the most frequently registered acute infectious disease was chickenpox with a total of 864 registered persons.

They account for 76.3% of the total number of patients in the month, and in the group of the ten most common infectious diseases for this month, they account for 76.7%.

“Compared to October 2022, an increase in the number of reported cases of chickenpox was registered by 2.1 times, and compared to the month of November 2021, an increase was registered by 6.4 times. In relation to the arithmetic mean, an increase of 2.2% was registered. In the total number of registered chickenpox in 2022, reported cases in November account for 27.5%. In the total number of registered acute infectious diseases in 2022, chickenpox accounts for 56.5%, shows the report of the Public Health Institute.
