Six people were taken under police custody, twelve police officers under investigation and almost 16 thousand euros seized. This is the epilogue from yesterday’s action by the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, in which a criminal group composed of police officers at the border crossing “Tabanovce” was broken up, which for years demanded and took bribes in order to turn a blind eye to violations and irregularities.
The detained police officers were brought on Monday before a judge in the Skopje Criminal Court, who, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, sentenced three to thirty days’ detention, two to eight days’ detention, and one ended up in house arrest. Other measures have been imposed on the other suspected police officers.
