Friday is the day before Christmas, and according to tradition, Christmas bonfires are lit in every neighborhood on Thursday evening. But this year, due to the enormous air pollution, eco-activists urge citizens not to light these fires in order not to increase the already high pollution at this time of the year.
“By lighting bonfires, we will only further worsen the situation with the pollution of the ambient air, which there is no one to measure anyway! When the state apparatus shows desperate helplessness and when the city has no idea about a systemic solution to the problem of pollution, we have to show with our own awareness that we are ourselves, we are our own people and we want the best for ourselves and our loved ones,” said the eco-activists.
