The deputy leader of the Democratic Union for Integration DUI and part of the so-called “Fire group” Izet Mexhiti stressed that the group will not vote for the new government, but that it has no doubts about the constitutional changes.
“This is a policy out of spite and daily politics and I publicly say that I will not vote for the new Government. I and all the Albanian MPs have no doubts about the constitutional changes. The two things should not be connected. As they call us the “fire group”, we currently have three MPs. We also talk to others. I see that there is dissatisfaction among the smaller parties as well, and we will have to wait,” said Mexhiti in an interview with Republika.mk.
Mexhiti believes that the Alliance for Albanians’ joining the Government is unnecessary and that it is not good for either the Alliance for Albanians or the Government.
