The Government is set to freeze the prices of rice and eggs on Tuesday, but also make a decision to limit the export of eggs. Regarding sugar and flour, there will be no intervention yet. It will be waiting for the retailers to make these products cheaper themselves, while the prices in the meat industry are next to be analyzed. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has authorizations for fruits and vegetables. If any measures are proposed from there, the Ministry of Economy is ready to accept them.
The Macedonian Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi, who yesterday informed about these latest decisions, does not specify what the frozen price of rice and eggs will be. He did not want to announce, as the minister mentioned, before the final decision was announced by the Government.
The prices of imported meat products, as Bekteshi announced, will be one of the next measures to be analyzed by the Ministry of Economy.
