Almost half of the discussion at today’s meeting in Skopje between theMacedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani and the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka was devoted to the attempts for the quiet assimilation of the Macedonians in Albania by Bulgaria
“We asked for an opinion, a position from the Republic of Albania, but the minister’s information is that so far such cases are only sporadic, and an attempt has been made to exploit a vacuum between the passing of a law and a by-law which they will try to address. There is a working group in the Ministry that monitors these flows on a daily basis, proposes specific steps, and soon the Government will also discuss that topic,” said Osmani.
