The Government decided to freeze the prices of hygiene products. This will mean determining the highest price at which the products can be sold. The Macedonian Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi indicated that the following products will be included: toilet paper, wet wipes, diapers for children and adults, sanitary pads, etc.
“The reduction will be 13 percent of the prices that were in retail trade on March 20 of this year. The decision is made on the basis of analyses,” added Bekteshi.
Between March 1 and March 24, 2023, the price of toilet paper ranged from MKD 94.8 to MKD 205, and at this price, when VAT is calculated, it would range from MKD 111.8 to MKD 241.9, and mainly more than all these products of 85% are imported in the country.
