Criminal charges have been filed against ten people, of whom nine have been arrested, and one is being sought, for the offenses of child trafficking, production and distribution of child pornography, as well as for sexual abuse of a vulnerable person, informed the Ministry of Interior on Thursday.
The suspects are from Tetovo, Skopje and Veles. In their residences, in these three cities, searches were carried out with a court order, and mobile phones, marijuana, a gas gun and other items were found and temporarily confiscated.
In a preliminary procedure, a judge sentenced four of those arrested for child trafficking to 30 days of detention, while one person was sentenced to house arrest.
The action was carried out by the National Unit for the Suppression of Migrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking at the Department for Criminal Investigations in the Department for Suppression of Organized and Serious Crime, in cooperation with the Departments of Internal Affairs Veles, Skopje and Tetovo, and under the direction of a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for prosecuting organized crime.
