VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski reiterated on Saturday that his party will not participate in the working group on constitutional amendments, assessing that ‘at this stage it is pointless and that the government wants to politicize the process.’
“We will not participate in this group. We have said that many times in the past, we have also given the reasons because the work of this working group is totally pointless at this stage. And top legal experts comment on that, that this first step is a practical determination of the need to open the Constitution, and if there are two thirds, then a Constitutional Commission is already formed, and amendments are considered, drafted, etc. Now it is totally pointless, they want to politicize the process. Here I once again publicly state my position, and I will no longer deal with that issue, that VMRO-DPMNE will not participate in the work of the Commission established by the Ministry of Justice, whose purpose is to work on the amendments that are needed for the constitutional changes,” said Mickoski.
