The leader of VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski, the vice-president Vlado Misajlovski, the mayors of Gazi Baba and Butel Darko Kostovski and Boban Stefkovski and MPs Jaklina Peshevska and Zoran Kocevski laid flowers and lit candles at the monument at Smilkovo Lake on Wednesday.
“On this day in 2012, on the great Christian holiday of Great Thursday, Filip Slavkovski, Aleksandar Nakevski, Cvetancho Acevski, Kire Trichkovski and Borche Stevkovski were killed at Lake Smilkovo. May they rest in peace,” Mayor Stefkovski wrote on Facebook.
“May it never happen again!” It should never be forgotten!”, added the mayor.
The municipality of Gazi Baba, along with the initiative board, built a church “Holy Forty Martyrs – Mladenci” at the site of the five-fold murder in memory of the young victims.
