The trial in the Skopje Basic Civil Court began Tuesday following the lawsuits filed on January 27, 2023 against the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani by the head of Macedonian Human Rights Movement International (MHRMI) Bill Nicholov and MHRMI as an organization.
These are lawsuits under the Law on Civil Liability for Insult and Defamation.
At today’s hearing, the plaintiff’s attorney, Trajche Torov, presented the evidence that is part of the lawsuit and answered several objections regarding the lawsuit.
He informed that an apology request was submitted to the defendant’s email addresses, however, as he said, “to this day we have not received any response.”
According to the defendant’s lawyer, Ljupcho Iliev, who proposed that the lawsuit be rejected as unfounded, from the content of the lawsuit it cannot be accepted that the defendant is guilty of the accusations.
