Inflation jumps by 13 percent, prices of all products go up, especially meat by 26.2 percent

Consumer prices in April, compared to March, were up 0.7% and retail prices rose by 1.4%, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office. Compared to April 2022 prices, April 2023 prices increased by 13.0% and retail prices increased by 10.1%.

In April 2023, compared to the previous month, the prices of cigarettes were up 8.1%, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 2.0%, meat by 1.4%, wine by 1.2%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 0.5%, mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices, spirits by 0.4%, and fish and seafood by 0.2%.

April consumer prices, compared to March, were lower for oils and fats by 6.5%, fresh or chilled fruit by 3.2%, milk by 3.4%, cheese and curd, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 1.5%, as well as bread and cereals by 0.4%.
