Fifteen months in prison for the anesthesiologist Valton Dervish from the Tetovo Hospital, who used his smartphone to film patients from the Gynecology department, where pregnancies are terminated, and published the video on the TikTok social network. He will be under house arrest until the verdict becomes final. In front of the court on Wednesday, he pleaded guilty and apologized for his behavior.
The scandal happened on April 14, and the next day the anesthesiologist was fired from his job, after which the Medical Chamber took away his work license. The Public Prosecutor’s oOffice sentenced the suspect to eight-day detention and charged him with two criminal offenses: negligent exercise of his powers and serious violation of patients’ rights.
