Mitsotakis to host informal dinner on Monday for Western Balkan leaders, Kovachevski to also attend

Greek Prime Minister KyriakosMitsotakis is to host on Monday (Aug. 21) in Athens an informal dinner for the leaders of the Western Balkans and the EU member states of the region, including the Macedonian Prime Minister DimitarKovachevski.

The Greek Prime Minister’s office announced that the informal dinner will discuss the expansion of the Union and the European future of the region on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the EU-Western Balkans Summit and the “Thessalonica Declaration”, and the invitation of Mitsotakis was also accepted by the EC president Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who will attend the dinner.

The informal dinner for the enlargement of the Union will be attended by the prime ministers of North Macedonia and Kosovo, the presidents of Serbia and Montenegro, the president of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the leaders of the countries of the region that are members of the EU, i.e. the prime ministers of Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, while Albania was invited at the presidential level, but will not have a representative in Athens.
