Customs prevents attempt to smuggle motorcycles and other goods without clearance

A Macedonian importer tried to smuggle goods with a total value of MKD 473,632 among the declared goods for customs clearance.

Among the undeclared goods are four used motorcycles with a value of MKD 392,285, as well as a sander, a drill press, tires for cross bikes, tires with aluminum rims, a metal safe, a pneumatic gun, a grill and coils of rubber hoses worth MKD 81,347.

The smuggling attempt was discovered by the customs inspectors from the mobile team of the Customs Administration during a detailed control of the truck that registered for import customs clearance at the Tetovo office.

The goods are not declared in the customs import declaration, nor were they declared in the attached invoice by the importer.

Undeclared goods have been seized, and the importer will be charged with the crime of smuggling in accordance with Article 278 of the Criminal Code.
