In the report of the World Bank and another regular annual report for April this year, the results in the field of foreign direct investments were disastrous for Macedonia compared to the countries of the Western Balkans, pointed out VMRO-DPMNE’s spokesperson Marija Miteva, commenting on whether the Government is right when it claims that it achieved good results when it comes to foreign investments.
“Macedonia was at the bottom of the list for foreign direct investments in the last three years. And in 2022, foreign investments, net in Macedonia, amounted to 5% of GDP, and in Montenegro they were 13.5%, in Serbia 7%, in Albania 6%, Kosovo 6.5%, etc. So the numbers also show that the situation that is presented to the general public is a little different from the one that the Government presents,” Miteva stressed.
The opposition spokesperson also added that during VMRO-DPMNE’s rule, Macedonia was the leader in terms of foreign investments, and now it is at the bottom of the list.
