Siljanovska-Davkova lays flowers at Macedonian-language memorial plaque in Santa Maria Maggiore basilica


Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova leading a state and church delegation to Rome and the Vatican laid flowers at the memorial plaque in the Macedonian language in honor of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

President Siljanovska-Davkova and the delegation previously attended a prayer service at the tomb of St. Cyril at the Basilica of San Clemente in Rome as part of celebrating the holiday, after having an audience with Pope Francis on Thursday. Siljanovska-Davkova is scheduled to meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella later on Friday. This is her first trip abroad as head of state.
