Possible drop in household electricity price, says Bislimoski

The reduction in electricity imports due to the production of photovoltaic power plants may soon reduce its prices for households, warns the president of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Marko Bislimoski, who says that work is currently underway to supplement the free electricity tariff for households by another hour.

He says that now a real analysis must be done to show if there is a possibility to extend the free electricity tariff for one hour, i.e. until 4 pm.

“We extend the free tariff to take advantage of the cheap price of electricity during these periods. Also, with that signal that we send to ESM and EVN Home, to buy electricity in those periods, especially EVN Home, we will offer a lower price of electricity which is very possible to allow us to reduce the price of electricity for households,” Bislimoski told Radio Free Europe.

Currently, the cheapest electricity tariff is between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
