Osman Kadriu fails to secure two-thirds majority for Constitutional Court president

Not even the constitutional judge Osman Kadriu could secure enough support for president of the Constitutional Court. The second round of voting failed again on Monday. Kadriu was the only candidate after Pavlovska-Daneva withdrew from the race Monday morning to unblock the process, while Vasikj-Bozadzieva again received only 5 votes even without the opponent.
In the past few days, the six attempts failed in which none of the candidates managed to collect two-thirds support from their colleagues or six votes to be elected.
The court may face a blockade considering that Kacarska’s term ended on June 2, and the Rules of Procedure do not provide for either a deputy president or an acting president.
