Energy law to be amended to prevent electricity price hike to protect the citizens’ standard, says Mickoski

The Your Macedonia coalition led by VMRO-DPMNE submitted Thursday to the Parliament a bill to amend the Law on Energy after a fast-track procedure. It is actually a draft-law with which there will be no increase in the household electricity price, i.e. the standard of the citizens will be protected. With it, the price of electricity will not be allowed to increase for the first and second groups of consumers, while for the third and fourth tariff groups the increase will be from 1 to 2 percent, VMRO-DPMNE leader and Prime Minister-designate Hristijan Mickoski told a press conference on Thursday.

Mickoski adds that the future government does not want to interfere in the work of independent regulatory bodies. But there is also a responsibility to the citizens and taking care of the standard will be a priority, he stressed.
