EU recommends abolishing the tool for state employment by ethnicity

The European Union is the one that recommends abolishing the balancer, the tool that determines the employment of civil servants by ethnicity, said Prime Minister-designate Hristijan Mickoski, in response to a reporter’s question whether the use of that possibility will be stopped. He reminded that the EU recommendation is a consequence of the screening process that has already been done.

“If they say that it should be abolished, then we have nothing else left but to work according to the recommendations coming from the EU. It is the result of the screening process,” Mickoski said, adding that the country should progress according to competencies, not according to gender, ethnicity or religion.
