The review of the 2024 Budget is being prepared in the Ministry of Finance. Money will be provided for salaries and pensions, for everything that is undertaken as an obligation according to law, and non-priority and non-productive spending will be cut. The challenge is great, about 90% of the planned deficit has been spent, but we will deal with the situation, said Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska in her first public appearance after taking office.
“The situation is very bad. But I’m not saying we won’t make it. The directions I have given are that wages and pensions must take priority. At the same time, to give priority to everything that has been undertaken by law and that it must be paid, and then let’s continue with how much money will remain to be redistributed to other items,” said Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska, and added that about MKD 2.5 billion are missing in the part of pension payment.
