Father of murdered Vanja Gjorchevska will be tried for abduction

The Basic Criminal Court in Skopje dismissed on Monday the appeals made by the defendants in the case concerning the murder of 14-year-old Vanja Gjorchevska from Skopje and 74-year-old Panche Zhezhovski from Veles and approved the indictment filed by the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Bore Videvski, Velibor Manev and Vlatko Keshishov are accused of being accomplices in the kidnappings and murders. According to the indictment, their goal was to force a member of Vanja’s immediate family to give ransom money. The most shocking thing in the case is the possible involvement of Vanja’s father, Aleksandar Gjorchevski, who is accused of aiding her abduction.

“After reviewing and evaluating the act as well as the submitted objections stated against the indictment by the defense of the accused, it made a decision by which – the appeals of the defense are rejected as unfounded, and the indictment is approved in its entirety,” the Criminal Court said.
