The Bitola municipality said on Tuesday the fire over the city has been put under control following comprehensive and continued efforts by firefighters, employees in public enterprises and the Crisis Management Center (CMC).
The municipality said that on Tuesday morning, as air support for the firefighting teams, state aid arrived for Bitola, consisting of five Air Tractors, of which 3 from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and two from Turkey, which are part of the aid that arrived to help Macedonia combat wildfires.
“The teams of Bitola firefighting squad remain on the ground until the fire is completely extinguished. The Municipality of Bitola and the Mayor Toni Konjanovski would like to thank all the employees of TPPE Bitola, for their dedication and sacrifice in the fight against the wildfire,” the municipality pointed out in a press release.
